Since opening its doors in 1988, Friendship Shelter has been a beacon in Laguna Beach.
We offer individualized care to those experiencing homelessness and illuminate our community on the complex issues of housing and homelessness. Today, we’ve broadened our reach to be an organizational leader in Orange County, administering the county’s Coordinated Entry System, running the City of Laguna Beach’s Emergency Shelter, and advocating for the best solutions to end homelessness.
This work is due in no small part to our community supporters.
Over the years, local churches, volunteer groups, and businesses have championed our success by helping at our shelters, giving donations, and advocating for more housing.
Today, we’d like you to introduce you to one of those supporters.
14 years ago when Nirvana Grille opened, Owner, Chef and Founder Lindsay decided she wanted to give back to the Laguna Beach community. We were fortunate to be the first recipient of her generosity as the beneficiary of proceeds from her preview night. Now, she’s encouraging other Orange County businesses to join her in supporting us.
Over the years, Nirvana Grille has donated countless meals to our Guest Chef Program. Lindsay recognizes that not all business support can be monetary or through volunteer support.
For Lindsay, supporting Friendship Shelter is a way to support her community, one that has empowered Lindsay to know that homelessness has a solution.
“To know that there are resources and companies out there that are supporting that and enabling that to be possible, I think it allows me to do more and know that I can make a difference even when I can’t financially always provide that.”
Watch today’s video and hear more about the impact of Nirvana Grille’s partnership with Friendship Shelter.
